From the Goose-yard Block, after 12 months in oak a selection of the best three barrels and kept in oak for an additional 12 months. To date only four vintages of The Gander Reserve (’04, ’07, ’08 and ’13). Deep, dense crimson-purple; the quality of the fruit has made light work of the additional year in barrel. It is as good an example of uninhibited Barossa Valley shiraz.

Mature wine – a tease of funk – red fruits – cedary oak. Lovely sweet fruit – still vivacious – bright pastille. Lovely red berry acidity.

Quite advanced, alcoholic, but hardly thin – it carries the alcohol very well. It’s just coffeed and forward.
